Dr. Sultana Teslima Begum is a highly experienced and respected Critical Care Specialist with over two decades of dedicated service in anaesthesia and intensive care medicine. With a strong academic foundation including MBBS, Diploma in Anaesthesia (DA), and the prestigious Indian Diploma in Critical Care Medicine (IDCCM), she has consistently advanced her expertise to deliver high-quality, life-saving care.

Currently serving as the Senior Consultant and In-Charge of the Department of Critical Care Medicine at Nemcare Hospitals, Guwahati, Dr. Begum has played a pivotal role in strengthening critical care services in the region since 2009. Her leadership has contributed significantly to the management of complex, high-risk patients, including those requiring advanced life support, mechanical ventilation, and multidisciplinary intensive care.

Her professional journey reflects progressive responsibility—from House Officer in Anaesthesia at OIL Hospital, Duliajan, to Consultant In-Charge at Downtown Hospital, Guwahati, before assuming her current leadership role. She has been instrumental in developing critical care protocols and ensuring evidence-based practices in intensive care settings.

Dr. Begum’s commitment to continuous learning is evident through her extensive training and certifications, including FCCS (SCCM, USA), ECMO training, advanced mechanical ventilation workshops, and certifications in Basic and Advanced Cardiac Life Support. She is also trained in echocardiography and ultrasound in critical care, enhancing her diagnostic and procedural capabilities in ICU settings.

An active member of the Indian Society of Critical Care Medicine, she has participated in numerous workshops and academic initiatives, contributing to the advancement of critical care standards. With multiple publications to her credit, she remains engaged in academic medicine and knowledge dissemination.
